Mr. Steven Agasa

Biography:
Steven Agasa originally hails from the Big Island of Hawaii and currently resides on O'ahu. Mr. Agasa's musical experience began at the age of 4 1/2 at the Yamaha Music School studying piano with Karen Besgly. Other piano teachers include Melvin Gallegher, Michael Springer, Peter Corragio, and Paul Lyddon.
Mr. Agasa holds a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Music Education at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and received his clarinet foundations under the guidance of Mr. Henry Miyamura. Mr. Agasa received his Master Degree in Clarinet Performance from Arizona State University where he studied with internationally known clarinetist Dr. Robert Spring, served as principal clarinetist in the ASU Wind Symphony and co-principal clarinetist in the ASU Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Agasa has also received clarinet training from James Moffitt and John Bruce Yeh. Other musical ensembles include the Hawai'i County Band, Kona Chamber Orchestra, and the Honolulu Symphonic Winds.
Mr. Agasa has taught at Moanalua Middle School as the half-time band instructor since 2008.
